Wearing her Owls Sweater - unblogged of course
Wearing her Owls Sweater – unblogged of course

It is nearly the end of the year, as usual a time of reflection.. 2013 has been a special year for me, as you can imagine with the arrival of my first baby. Everything is very different now, and I feel a brutal halt happened in the middle of the year. I’m still struggling to find balance in my life (and also to recover from sleep deprivation) and clearly I have had to prioritize. Whilst I’m now able to knit in the evening as I did before, time to sew has been hard to find. Naps are still very unstable, as they can be for the whole first year from what I heard, and I don’t like to engage in sewing if I know I only have ten minutes ahead of me. I suppose I have to work on this 🙂 … I might have to move my sewing machine to the kitchen table from time to time, so that I can sew when the little lady is awake and playing on her mat or in her high chair. I have no baby appropriate furniture upstairs where I sew, so I makes it hard for me to go there when she’s awake.

So I don’t have much to blog about of course! My online time has been drastically reduced too, as I used to go online during my lunch break at work. But with the baby I have had to take appointments with doctors and physiotherapist during lunch time, so no blog browsing for me.. This physiotherapist thing being over now and my work load lighter at work after the holidays, I hope to be able to come and read (and comment on) your blogs!

Congratulations to the ladies with babies who manage to sew and blog and comment on other’s blogs, I am truly amazed..

Many wishes for the new year to all of you, I’m really looking forward to seeing you again in 2014!

  1. I don’t have kids and hardly fnd time to blog/sew/knit so I can only imagine what time constraints you must have taking care, and gettign used to taking care, of a wee babe. I imagine it is amazing too so it’s all about priorities, right? Happy New Year to you and your family!

  2. Congrats on the little one! That jumper’s lovely – I struggle to blog and knit without any tiny people to distract me, so I’m in awe of you guys who manage it!
